VEREECKEN -  Evelyn Vereecken (Koeber), age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Evelyn Koeber; son, Jim Vereecken and daughter, Trudy Vereecken; brothers Nile Koeber and Paul Koeber; and in-laws Frank and Jeannette Vereecken. 

She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 65 years, Frank Vereecken; children Judy (Dave) Aniszko and Daniel (Kelly) Vereecken; grandchildren Chad (Jodi) Aniszko, Nathan (Kady) Aniszko, Shantel (Brandon) Jensen, and Stephanie (Charles) Vereecken; great-grandchildren Tyler, Ethan, Audrey, Landon, Avree; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Evelyn went into the insurance trade after high school and became an insurance agent for 25 years.  She became a Cub Scout Leader, was an active member in the Red Hat Society, and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran, Faith Lutheran, and Holy Cross Lutheran Churches.  Evelyn battled with Parkinson’s disease for 40 years and was one of West Michigan’s pioneers for a brain implant stimulant.  She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by all her family and friends. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Sheldon Meadows for all their wonderful care. 

Visitation with the family will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie, S.W., Grandville, MI 49418.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, with visitation one hour prior to service, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1481 Baldwin, Jenison, Michigan.  Pastor Jim Eggert will be officiating.  Interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park. 

In honor of Evelyn and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society or the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
